Met Éireann has issued a Status Yellow snow and ice warning across the country.

The weather forecaster is warning of rain turning to sleet and snow this morning, with accumulations likely on high and low ground.

Some icy stretches can also be expected.

The alert was issued overnight and will remain in place until 11am.

AA Roadwatch is warning motorists to reduce their speed and keep a safe distance from the car in front.
