It has emerged that a second 101-year-old woman has spent over 24 hours waiting on a trolley in a hospital emergency department.
The woman from Co Clare was taken by ambulance to University Hospital Limerick last week, but her family say it was over a day before she was given a bed.
It comes following a similar case at Tallaght Hospital in Dublin, where another 101-year-old was left on a trolley for 26 hours.

A review is underway there, and Mary Fogarty of the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation in the Mid-west has told Clare FM that she feels another one is needed at Limerick too.
