Multiple people were held at knifepoint during a burglary in Co Kerry in the early hours of this morning. 

No one was injured over the course of the incident, which took place at a home in Tralee.

A man armed with knives entered the property on Chapel Street at about 1:45am and threatened the occupants.

Damage was caused to property and the man fled the scene.

Gardaí located him a short distance away where he was then arrested.

A number of stolen items were recovered by Gardaí and returned.

Investigations are ongoing and the man is currently being detained at Tralee Garda Station.
