Donors who've traveled to countries affected by the Zika outbreak are being reminded they can't give blood for three months after coming home.
The Irish Blood Transfusion Service says there are deferral procedures in place for people who've been to Latin America - where the virus is spreading rapidly.
The World Health Organisation has warned that Zika could reach Europe as the weather gets warmer.
