Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following a fatal traffic collision on the N11 motorway in Wexford in the early hours of this morning.

At 4.30am a man in his 20s was fatally injured when his car collided with a van at Garrycleary, Crossabeg.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

His body has been removed to Wexford General Hospital, where a post-mortem will take place.

The van driver, a man in his 40s, was also taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

The road is currently closed to traffic following the incident, and a forensic exam is set to take place later today.
