A 26-year-old man has appeared in court charged with the murder of Ademola Giwa in Dublin earlier this week.

Mr Giwa was stabbed to death at Mac Uilliam Road in Tallaght on Tuesday evening.

John Titiloye - with an address at Mac Uilliam Crescent in Tallaght - was arrested on Wednesday in Dundalk.

On Thursday at around 10.50pm, he was charged with Mr Giwa's murder at Tallaght Garda station.

Speaking before Dublin District Court this morning, Detective Garda Michael McGrath from Tallaght Garda station said Mr Titiloye replied 'not guilty' when charged.

An application for legal aid was granted by Judge Brian O'Shea.

Mr Titiloye has been remanded in custody to appear before Cloverhill District Court next Thursday August 19th.
