A man has been air-lifted to hospital after getting into difficulties while swimming off the coast of Rush in North County Dublin this morning.
The man in his 50s was taken to Our Lady of Lourdes hospital, Drogheda in Co. Louth.
A member of the public raised the alarm when they saw the man was in difficulties near the North beach in Rush.

The Coast Guard Helicopter, Skerries Coast Guard and Skerries RNLI Lifeboat in Skerries responded to the call.
However, it's reported that the man did manage to get ashore himself.
