The 30-year-old man, who was the sole occupant of one vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the second vehicle, a female aged in her 20s, was taken to Mayo University Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Gardaí are asking for any witnesses of the crash to come forward.

They are particularly interested in anyone with dashcam footage who may have been in the area at the time to share it with them.
