Four friends have banded together to tackle one of men's most disguised threats, the radiation emitting from your phone.

After research from scientists at the University of Exeter discovered that the electromagnetic waves coming from your phone can affect male fertility, a quartet of former German business students began thinking of ways to battle it.

The foursome consists of Germans Daniel Herter, Berno Delius, Peer-Boy Matthiesen, and Nick Piepenburg and they have come up with silver lined underwear, called Kronjuwelen.

They spoke to Digital Trends and said that the ideal solution would have been metal underwear.

"Silver is nice, but how to combine it with boxer shorts? We thought about it, but never found a solution," Piepnburg said.

After initially failing to devise a solution they revisited the idea after they found a new material on the market.

"That fabric was already on the market, but we increased the amount of silver in it to certain limits," Pipenburg said. "The fabric in our boxer shorts stops 98 percent of mobile phone radiation,” Delius said. "We tested and certified it with the University of German Armed Forces."

A pair of Kronjuwelen aren't cheap. They are currently gathering funds through Kickstarter and they expect the underwear to retail at around €35 each.
