100 new jobs are being created at an app developer in Dublin.

50 positions at KamaGames will come on stream in the next year - with another 50 being created over three years.

The jobs are in game design, marketing, finance, HR and business development. The firm says the roles are "the first stage of a much larger hiring plan."

The company makes games for Steam, Xbox Live and Playstation Network. The investment is supported by the Department of Jobs through IDA Ireland.

The announcement was made by Jobs Minister Richard Bruton at Google's European headquarters in Dublin.

Mr Bruton said: "Today's announcement that KamaGames, an exciting and rapidly growing app developer, have committed to growing their workforce in Dublin is another great boost for the tech sector in the city."

"The fact that this announcement has come with support from a collaboration with Google shows the immense value of developing a technology cluster in Ireland," he added.

KamaGames say they have reached in excess of 80 million players worldwide, and one million active daily users.

"As we look to expand into new markets we will aggressively increase our headcount here in Dublin, bringing up to 50 jobs in the next year and double this again before the end of 2018" said Danny Hammett, KamaGames CEO.
