A young Irish woman has gone viral on TikTok after posting about how lonely she feels. 

Claine Cassidy is 25-years-old and a well known show jumper. 

While she often feels busy during the week, when it comes to the weekend, she sometimes feels isolated and lonely. 

On Lunchtime Live, she remembered that she was recently sitting in a coffee shop alone and a group of girls came in chatting. 

“They were laughing, giggling away, like having a coffee and I was kind of sitting there and it kind of struck me I hadn't had that in a long time,” she said. 

“I haven't had like a coffee date with a friend in a long time and it kind of struck me a bit.

“Like I kind of sat back and went, ‘Wow, like I'm sitting here on my own’. 

“Like what the hell? It's a Saturday and I'm on my own.” 

Ms Cassidy decided she wanted to get this off her chest, made a video and posted it on TikTok. 

She thought that only a couple of hundred people would see it but it quickly blew up. 

“It just took off and the views just kept going up,” she said. 

“Social media has this mad perception that everybody has these amazing lives and they're constantly going for coffees and runs with all of their friends. 

“And it may be in a lot of people's lives, but obviously my TikTok has shown that it isn't the case in so many other people's lives.”
