It could be a good night for the Irish at the Baftas in London tonight.

Irish films and film makers are up for 11 awards.

Brooklyn and The Lobster are nominated for best film.

Saoirse Ronan and Michael Fassbender have acting nominations.

Meanwhile a protest calling for greater diversity in the film industry is taking place outside the awards ceremony.

Dubliner Lenny Abrahamson is the director of 'Room', which is up for two awards. He thinks its an important issue:

A "peaceful" protest will be held outside the awards by a group which says the event is not diverse enough.

The Creatives of Colour Network has been using the hashtag 'Bafta Blackout' on Facebook and Twitter.

Idris Elba and John Boyega are the only black actors in this year's shortlist.

Adulthood director Noel Clarke won the rising star award in 2009 - he thinks the issue is bigger than the film industry:
