Gardaí are investigating a street brawl which broke out in Galway city this afternoon.

A number of young people were reportedly involved in the fight at Eyre Street at 2.30pm.

It is understood improvised weapons were being used but there are no reports of injuries.

No arrests have been made yet but gardaí are appealing to people who witnessed the fight to contact them at Galway Garda station at 091-53-8000.
