Gardaí in Dublin have arrested two men in connection with an attempted robbery at a post office in Kilnamanagh.
Just before 11 o'clock this morning two men pulled up outside the post office in a red Toyota Corolla.
The men - one of whom was armed with a hammer - entered the post office and demanded cash.
No money was handed over and the men fled the scene in the car which was later found burnt out at Treepark Road.
The men - who are in their 30s and 40s - went on foot towards Tymon North where they were intercepted by the Gardai and arrested.
Both are being questioned under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act at Tallaght Garda Station.
