There is fresh speculation that Phil Hogan is set to take the agriculture job in the new European Commission.
The Financial Times has published a leaked document showing the Fine Gael TD becoming the Commissioner for Agriculture in the next administration.
Ireland has been lobbying for a high-profile job in the next Commission, with agriculture or trade mentioned as possibilities.
However there is still speculation that the incoming President Jean-Claude Juncker could ask some countries to withdraw their nominees because member states are not putting forward enough women.
But the Financial Times adds that the document "includes glaring inconsistencies, unbelievable political gambles and factual inaccuracies - all set amidst a few things that ring absolutely true."
Mr Hogan makes it into the category of 'the possibly true'; but the paper says they have published the list "with a serious health warning."
