On this week’s Adult segment, one letter writer said she is afraid she’ll have to move to her boyfriend’s farm if they get engaged.
“I’m 28, I’ve been with my fella for three years,” she told Moncrieff.
“We get on great, he’s very thoughtful and we have the craic together.
“The thing is, he’s from a farm in the middle of nowhere; we’re talking a good drive away from anything else.
“The only neighbours are his family, and I know if we take the next step, it would mean me moving down there.
“I’m there every second weekend at this rate, but I feel like there’s pressure now to get engaged and really plan the future.
“I would love for him to propose, as I’ve been to so many weddings in the last year or two, but at the same time I get a sinking feeling that when that happens, I’ll have to move there.
“He’s inheriting the farm and this is his life path, and I know if I want him in my life I’ll have to accept this.
“I’m not sure I’m cut out for a life of farming, I feel like I’ll be lonely and completely cut off, but then again I’m not sure would I even meet anyone better – he's land after all.”

Actress Mary McEvoy said if she was in this farmer’s shoes, she’d “steer very clear, actually”.
“In one minute, she’s saying there’s pressure to get married, and she’s hoping he’ll propose – so, obviously the pressure’s coming from her,” she said.
“She seems to be more in love with the idea of getting married rather than actually settling down with someone.
“But also, I will say, in defence of people living in the country; I live in the country – we actually have everything that we want and we have it in an amount we can actually cope with.
“It only looks isolated from the outside.”
'I don't know if she actually loves him'
Broadcaster Barbara Scully said she feels sorry for the letter writer.
“I can understand that she would be a little bit worried about life in the country – I do agree with you though, I don’t know if she actually really loves this fella,” she said.
“I mean, I’m all for being pragmatic about getting married, you have to look at the practicalities as well, and she’s certainly doing that.
“But I didn’t hear any of like, ‘I really love him’, I heard, ‘Somebody better may not come along’.”
Both Mary and Barbara concluded that the relationship should come to an end if the letter writer felt so strongly about the issue.
