15-thousand homes are without power tonight as storm force conditions continue to batter southern parts of the country.
ESB networks say they are working to restore electricity to homes in Kerry, Cork, Tipperary, Waterford and Wexford.
Parts of Wexford, Waterford and Tipperary have flooded - while Cork city is under two feet of water following tonight's high tide.
High tide hit the city just before 9pm and water poured onto the city quays and low lying streets.
Some areas that had escaped earlier flooding are now under water - including Patrick Street.
The below videos shows people in canoes on the city's Grand Parade:
Cobh, Youghal and Clonakilty are also badly affected.
A status orange weather alert has been issued by Met Eireann and is to remain in place until tomorrow morning.
