One person has been taken to hospital following a fire broke out at an apartment building in Dublin city centre.

A number of units of the fire brigade battled the blaze at the scene on Love Lane off Mount Street just after 2pm.

It took over an hour to tackle the blaze at a fifth floor apartment.

The extent of the person's injuries isn't known.
