***WE ARE NO LONGER ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR THIS ROLE***

Newstalk is looking to recruit a number of Journalism / Politics students to be involved in our Election 2016 digital coverage in count centres across the country.

The ideal candidates would have a strong interest in politics and journalism and proficient knowledge of social media, especially Twitter. They will be required to travel to a pre-designated count centre on count day, reporting to the Newstalk reporter on duty.

Duties will include working closely with the reporter to ensure the accurate and timely distribution of information (both tallies and count results) via Newstalk's social media channels.

The successful candidates will be required to attend a half-day training in Dublin city centre, three weeks in advance of count day (exact date TBC).

This is a paid role and travel expenses via public transport on count day will be covered by the company where necessary.
