Cabinet may seek EU flood relief fund
The Cabinet will today discuss plans for an emergency fund of 10 million euro to help victims of flooding.
Further funding could also be pledged if the damage from recent rain and high tides costs even more to repair.
Meanwhile, residents and businesses in Cork City are being told to brace themselves for more flooding today.
The city council has issued a tidal flood alert as the River Lee reaches high tide this morning and tonight.

Portlaoise Hospital
The parents of a baby who died shortly after his birth at Portlaoise hospital will today travel to Leinster House to call for an official inquiry.
Mark and Roisín Molloy have been invited to the Oireachtas by two TDs from the Reform Alliance.
Meanwhile the Oireachtas health committee will also hold a special meeting to discuss the policy shortcomings highlighted by the Prime Time documentary into Portlaoise last week.
Chairman Jerry Buttimer says everyone being treated in a public hospital needs to be confident about the service they receive.

Facebook marks its 10th birthday today
Social networking site Facebook is celebrating its 10th birthday.
It was launched by Mark Zuckerberg in 2004 as a way to connect students at Harvard University in the US.
The site now has more than 1-point-2 billion users worldwide.
