It follows a fire at the Oxigen recycling plant in Ballymount last month which raged for five days.

The Council will now initiate a review of the waste management licences around the capital - with a view to withdrawing some licenses for certain activities.

The Council will call on the Environment Minister to amend the Waste Management Act to return decision-making authority to the Councils.
