Frontrunner in the Republican primaries Donald Trump has appeared in a promotional video for Somalian Islamist group Al-Shabaab.
The video includes a clip from a recent speech in which Trump calls for a "total and complete shutdown" of Muslims entering the US, according to the SITE Intelligence Group.
Trump made the remark at a rally following shootings in San Bernadino in which 14 people were killed by a couple believed to have been inspired by the Islamic State.
Trump's proposal is countered with a speech by extremist imam Anwar al-Awlaki, who calls for Muslims to "
Al-Awlaki was killed in a US drone strike in Yemen in 2011.
The 50-minute video was uploaded by the group's media wing Al-Kataib Media Foundation, and is targeted at black American youths.
It calls on them to convert to Islam and leave the US to fight in Somalia.
Last month, Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton said Mr Trump's comments were a gift to jihadist propaganda.
US political commentator Larry Donnelly says Donald Trump is using Muslims as a 'sales pitch'.
Speaking on the Sunday Show, Larry explained "the key thing on this is that I don't think Trump believes much of what he says.
"This is a sales pitch, it's not a campaign. Trump - very rightly and very adroitly - has appealed to and exploited the anger that exists in the electorate," he added.
