Dara Ó Briain has opened up about his childhood summer memories in his Bray hometown.
During the school holidays, the comedian recalled that his childhood home was turned into a Bed and Breakfast, which he described as “the thing” to do in the Wicklow town.
“We’d still get people coming in and holiday makers who would want to stay in what they felt was an authentic experience of living in a suburban house in Bray,” he explained to Lunchtime Live.
“You had to get out of your room, the room being turned into a hotel room and then having to sleep in a fold out bed in an attic or in another room somewhere.
“And the house being boxed off; the places where the visitors were.
“Even if we went past the window of the room where they were having their breakfast, we had to duck down for some reason.”
The fear was that being seen would spoil the visitors’ enjoyment of their meal in some way.
