A crew member - injured during severe weather conditions- has been airlifted from a fishing vessel off the Cork coast.
It happened around 220km south-to-south-west off Mizen Head.
The Irish Coast Guard coordinated the operation after a request from the UK Coast Guard of a Spanish national from a UK registered fishing vessel.

The Coast Guard helicopter from Shannon carried out the medical evacuation, with assistance from the Waterford Coast Guard helicopter, during extremely challenging weather conditions.
The casualty was airlifted to Cork University Hospital.
