A young girl (8) is in a serious condition in hospital after being hit by a car in Co Monaghan last night.
It happened at Cortubber in Ballybay shortly before 8pm.
The girl was airlifted to Temple Street Children's Hospital in Dublin.

A section of the Ballybay to Clones Road in Monaghan is closed for a forensic examination.
Local diversions are in place.
