There have been 738 new cases of COVID-19 confirmed in the Republic, according to the Department of Health.
13 further deaths associated with the virus have also been reported this evening.
Ten of these deaths occurred in February, one took place in January, one in October and one other date of death remains under investigation.
The latest figures bring the total amount of cases here to 218,980, while the number of coronavirus-related deaths stands at 4,313.
The median age of those who died was 81 years and the age range was 55 to 92 years.
Of the latest cases, 71% are under 45 years of age, while the median age is 32 years old.
Regarding the nationwide distribution of cases, 311 are in Dublin, 54 in Limerick, 36 in Cork, 34 in Offaly, and 33 in Donegal.
The remaining 270 cases are spread across 20 other counties.
Today’s cases, 5-day moving average of new cases, 14-day incidence rate per 100,000 of the population and new cases in the last 14 days (as of midnight 26 February 2021)As of 8am today, 550 people are now receiving treatment in hospital for the virus after 27 new admissions in the past 24 hours.
Of those patients, 135 are in ICU, down from 136 yesterday.
The 14-day incidence rate per 100,000 of the population now stands at 215.5.
Meanwhile, latest figures show that as of February 24th, 391,355 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Ireland.
254,948 people have received their first dose, while the second dose has been given to 136,407 people.
