Cannabis worth an estimated €4 million has been seized in Dublin.

The seizure came at around 2.50pm on Friday afternoon when gardaí stopped a truck on the N4 at Lucan.

The truck was searched, and cannabis herb with an estimated street value of over €4 million was discovered.

The driver of the truck - a man in his late 40s - was arrested at the scene.

He is being held at Lucan Garda Station under the provisions of Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.

The truck has been seized, and a technical examination will be carried out.
