Irish Water has confirmed the lifting today by the HSE of boil water notices for 11,300 customers in Roscommon.
The boil water restrictions for Killeglan and Castlerea were lifted following EPA inspections of the plants early this week.
Some customers in these areas have had to boil water for drinking since 2009.

However, 5,400 customers in northeast Roscommon remain on boil water notices that have been in place since March last year.
Irish Water says it is hopeful this will be resolved later this year.
