Gardaí investigating the deaths of two men in a Christmas Eve attack at a Dublin restaurant have arrested a fourth person.

48-year-old Jason Hennessy was shot during the attack at Browne’s Steakhouse at around 8pm on December 24th and later died in hospital.

A murder investigation has been launched into his death.

One of the alleged gunmen, 26-year-old Tristan Sherry, was assaulted at the scene of the attack and was pronounced dead by emergency services after they arrived.

Gardaí are also conducting a murder investigation in relation to his death.

This morning, Gardaí investigating the attack made their fourth arrest.

The man is being held under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act and it is understood his arrest relates to the wider investigation into all of the circumstances surrounding the attack.

Three other men have been arrested as part of the investigation.

22-year-old Michael Andrecut, of Sheephill Avenue in Corduff, Dublin 15, has already appeared in court charged with murdering Tristan Sherry.

18-year-old David Amah of Hazel Grove, Portrane Road, Donabate has also been charged with Mr Sherry’s murder.

25-year-old Wayne Deegan of Linnetsfield Avenue, Phibblestown, Dublin 15 has been charged with assault causing harm, violent disorder and producing a knife.
