A woman's been killed in a traffic accident in County Tipperary.

The 39-year-old pedestrian was knocked down by a van at Moyneard near Moyne shortly after 4 this afternoon.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene, and her body has been removed to Limerick Regional Hospital.

It is expected that the road will remain closed until tomorrow morning while Garda Forensic investigators inspect the scene.
