185 new jobs have been announced at six companies across Dublin and Wexford.

The new roles are spread across finance, technology and medical devices at IDA-backed ‘high growth’ companies.

160 of the new positions will be based at NuoDB, Megatransfert SAS, DataClarity, Artisan Infrastructure and Modern Marketing Concepts in Dublin.

25 jobs will be created at CRI, a medical device manufacturer, in Wexford.

NuoDB, which offers SQL database technology, will create an additional 20 jobs in Belfast.

Jobs Minister Richard Bruton has welcomed the announcement, and says the fact that the companies are looking for people with different skills is encouraging:

Martin Shanahan, CEO of IDA Ireland, says “IDA Ireland’s strategy of attracting high-growth companies has resulted in the creation of high-value jobs in IT, internet and digital media which has greatly added to Ireland’s reputation as a global tech centre.

"Many companies that started out with modest plans are now some of the top employers in Ireland making a significant contribution to the economy," he added.

Earlier this morning 69 new jobs were announced, to be created by Elverys Intersport and Smarter Surfaces. Facebook, meanwhile, announced plans for a new data centre and new jobs in Ireland, pending approval.
