Eight months ago, Futureproof's Jonathan McCrea had an idea of looking at the science of fertility in real time, warts and all, with a couple who were trying to conceive.

Since then, we've followed the incredible journey of Lisa and Gary McMahon, who are now 12 weeks pregnant with thanks to an assisted fertility programme with the SIMS IVF Fertility Clinic. It follows five years of trying and various unsuccessful treatments.
