The Taoiseach Enda Kenny is among the world leaders to express their shock at the recent terror attack in London, which occurred last night.
At least seven people were killed and 48 injured in central London after attackers drove a van into pedestrians before stabbing others nearby.
Mr Kenny tweeted last night saying: "Terrible news coming from London - we stand with our close neighbours again tonight."

The mayor of London, Sadiq Kahn also released a statement on Twitter saying "We are all shocked and angry today - but this is our city. We will never let these cowards win and we will never be cowed by terrorism."

Irish reaction
Minister for Foreign affairs Charlie Flanagan issued a statement this morning saying: "For the second time in two weeks, the ordinary people of the UK have been subjected to cowardly and barbaric attacks,"
He said that his department is continuing to closely monitor the situation and as of yet no Irish people are believed to be caught up in the attack.
Meanwhile, Fine Gael Leader Leo Varadkar expressed his shock over the latest attack saying: "Once again innocent people have been targeted in the most craven and horrific manner.
"We extend our solidarity to the people of the UK and condemn this incident in the strongest possible terms," adding that "The fact that this comes so soon after the Manchester attack only adds to the horror."
Responding to the horrific attack in London, President Michael D. Higgins said: "This latest terrible attack in London will be rightly condemned by all those who believe in the rights of our public to live their lives in the public space.
"To our neighbours in the United Kingdom I send the sympathy and support of the Irish people and in particular the heartfelt sympathy to the families of those who have lost their lives.
"And our thoughts and wishes for such recovery as is possible to the injured and their families."

International leaders
A number of other world leaders voiced their support for London and the UK after the latest attack.
French President Emmanuel Macron said "In the face of this tragedy, the France is more than ever at the side of the United Kingdom. My thoughts go to the victims and their loved ones."
He also confirmed that two of the victims were French citizens, with one of them believed to be in a serious condition.
President of the European Council, Donald Tusk also voiced his support after the attack saying: "My heart and mind are in London after another cowardly attack. Europe stands by UK in fight against terrorism."

Meanwhile, Canadian Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau commented on the attack saying: "Awful news from London tonight. We're monitoring the situation."
Finally, US President Donald Trump said on Twitter that "Whatever the United States can do to help out in London and the U. K., we will be there."
