A cyclist has died following a single-vehicle road traffic accident in county Kerry this morning.

The woman in her mid-30s was killed when the bicycle she was cycling left the road and hit a ditch.

The collision occurred on the Conor Pass on the Dingle to Tralee Road at approximately 10:40am.

She was pronounced dead at the scene and her body was removed to University Hospital Tralee.

The road was closed for a short time following the crash, but has since reopened.
