The number of people checking into Dublin hotels might have been down 3.7% last month, but the average daily rate for a room climbed to a record high of just over €121.

This average is achieved by dividing the total room revenue by the total number of rooms available. It rose 3.8% in November, despite overall demand dropping 2.8%.

New data from STR also reveals that the revenue per available room (RevPar), calculated by dividing a hotel's total guestroom revenue by its room count and the number of days being looked at, remained static at €94.80.

Across Europe, the occupancy rose 4.2% to 70.3% (though still lagging behind Dublin's reduced 78.3% rate). Daily rates increase 1.5% to €107.14 and RevPar was up 5.8% to €75.36.

London enjoyed the strongest growth in occupancy (4.7%) and RevPar (8%), whilst Berlin hit record levels across the board, with occupancy at 81.1% for the month.
