Every Thursday on the Tom Dunne Show we're joined by Oisin Davis, of The Damson Diner, who creates his version of a classic movie cocktail and George Byrne who reviews the biggest movies of the week.

This week Oisin recreates Cary Grant's tipple of choice, The Stinger, in the classic 1940 film, 'The Philadelphia Story'...

Oisin says, "while the exact time and place of where The Stinger cocktail originated can't be confirmed, we do know that it was hugely popular in the pre-prohibition era in New York. One particular bon vivant who enjoyed this drink immensely was Roger "Reggie" Vanderbilt. His family built railroads while Reggie squandered the money away doing things like pioneering the '3 hour happy hour', from 4pm to 7pm. He died at the age of 45 from cirrhosis of the liver. One happy hour too many I'd say...

THE STINGER

INGREDIENTS:

4 parts Martell Brandy
1 part white Creme De Menthe
1 sprig of mint (to garnish)

METHOD:

Fill a rocks glass with cracked ice to chill it.
Pour the booze into a shaker and fill it with ice.
Put the lid on it and shake for 15 seconds.
Strain into the glass and garnish with a mint sprig.
