Zlatan Ibrahimovic is enjoying having time off in the international breaks.

The Manchester United striker retired from international football last summer, after Sweden's elimination from Euro 2016. In 116 appearances for the country, he scored a record 62 goals.

This week as Sweden prepare for a World Cup qualifier at home to Belarus, followed by a friendly away to Portugal, the striker has been spending time with royalty.

On Monday, the 35-year-old spent some time with former Spanish king Juan Carlos. The 79-year-old abdicated the throne in 2014 and is a keen sports fan.

In 1972, three years before taking the throne, Juan Carlos competed in the 1972 Olympics. The sailor finished in 15th place in his event.

Despite never playing football at a professional level, there was clearly a rapport between the two men when they met. Ibrahimovic simply said "a King recognises a King".

Maybe the Swede feels more comfortable with royalty than he does with his own teammates?
