Simon Zebo has been called up to the Lions squad to replace tommy Bowe, following the Ulster man suffering a broken hand during yesterday’s game against Queensland Reds.
Zebo is currently in Texas, where he played 74 minutes of Ireland 15-12 defeat of the USA last night. Shortly after the game Zebo received the call to pack his bags and prepare to depart for Australia. He will arrive in Sydney on Tuesday morning, before meeting up with the squad before they face Combined Country in Newcastle.
At the moment there remains faint hope for Tommy Bowe, as he has undergone surgery and Lions head coach Warren Gatland has decided he will give the winger time to recover before assessing the injury.
Brian O’Driscoll captains the Lions on Tuesday.
