Zach Johnson and his family were forced to bid an emotional goodbye to the Claret Jug this week, as the reigning Open champion returns the trophy to the R&A.
With Colin Montgomerie getting the action underway this Thursday morning, the American gives back the coveted trophy and said it was not a pleasant moment.

Johnson posted this collage to Twitter including images of his daughter Abbey-Jane and his sons, Will and Wyatt as well as his wife Kim Barclay.

The 40-year-old said the exchange was "not pleasant" but looked back at some of the fonder moments he shared with the trophy.
