One hundredth of a second is small, but in a 100 metre final at the World Athletics Championships it's so big it may as well be 100 seconds.
That was all that separated Usain Bolt and Justin Gatlin yesterday afternoon as the Jamaican won his third 100 metres World Championship winning in a time of 9.79 seconds.
AFP photographer Antonin Thuillier excellently captured the dip for the finish line from above the 100 metre mark to show the fractions in Bolt's win.

It's not the first time AFP have captured an iconic shot of Bolt at the World Athletics Championships. Their photographer Olivier Morin took a photo of the Jamaican with a lightening bolt behind him in the Moscow sky as he won the 100 metre title in the Russian capital two years ago.
