Martin O'Neill says that he expects Jack Grealish to make a decision on his international future "very shortly".

The 19-year-old Aston Villa playmaker has once again been left out of the Ireland squad ahead of next month's Euro 2016 qualifiers against Gibraltar and Georgia.

But O'Neill has confirmed that he spoken with the teenager, who has asked for more time to consider his future.

"He and his father agreed that it’s about time they were going to do something about. Fine, if he's worth waiting for that in that sense, not necessarily for me but for the future of ourselves then so be it. He’s got age on his side and he’s a very decent talent," said O'Neill.

"I’m pleased I’ve had the conversation. They were receptive to what I was saying."

In the absence of Grealish, O'Neill has included three uncapped players in his provisional 37-man squad for next month's qualifiers

Bournemouth midfielder Eunan O'Kane has earned his first senior call-up and he's joined by Brentford's Alan Judge and Aberdeen's Adam Rooney.
