Three inter-county managers past and present joined Ger today on the Saturday Panel. He was joined in studio by Cavan football manager Terry Hyland, former Laois football manager and All Ireland winner with Armagh Justin McNulty and the current Laois hurling manager Seamus 'Cheddar' Plunkett.

Both Terry's and Cheddar's sides both exited the championship last week and they spoke to Ger about their teams runs in the championships and their hopes for the team.

The three guests also spoke to Ger about managing expectations and changing the belief in teams that may just be below the top tier of both hurling and football. Terry Hyland spoke about how the Cavan team's mindset needs to change from comparing modern teams to the great Cavan teams of the past. They last won the All Ireland title in 1952.

Justin told Ger, how each member of the Armagh All-Ireland winning team in 2002 received a letter on the morning of the All Ireland final from Muhammad Ali. He told Ger that the letter inspired the team, motivated them and relaxed the team as they travelled to Croke Park for the game.

The lack of leaders is something that was brought up on the panel, with Terry and Seamus agreeing that teams are getting younger and that some players are naturally not vocal. Justin added that its very difficult to inspire and mould character in players.

Dublin player Davey Harte's injury against Armagh was the topic of player welfare and if challenge matches were worth the time. "Anything goes in challenge games", Justin told Ger as the injury looks like it wont be punished. The three guests all felt that the event should not have happened but it's an unusual case in an inter-county game.

All three also gave their predictions for the rest of the football and hurling championships.
