With The Open at Royal Troon just days away, the world's finest golfers have descended on the historic golf course to get a couple of practice rounds under their belt.

Some holes have proven trickier than others, it appears, and none more so than the tiny par-three third which is playing at about 125 yards.

World number four and previous Open champion Rory McIlroy fell victim to one of the most treacherous bunkers on the course.

As any golfer will tell you, the frustration to get out of theses hazards can be immense and the 27-year-old needs a total of six attempts to finally get on with his round.
