Ireland are not the only team to struggle in the build up to Euro 2016.
Euro 2016 Group E rivals Belgium could only draw 1-1 with Finland in Brussels on Wednesday night. Romelu Lukaku spared the blushes of Marc Wilmots' side with a goal in the 89th minute to preserve the home team's recent good form.
Belgium are unbeaten in 12 games at home, in a run lasting nearly three years. They last lost in Brussels in 2013, when Japan won a friendly 3-2.
Finland took the lead through the Legia Warsaw midfielder Kasper Hamalainen, before Lukaku scored the equaliser. They finish their Euro 2016 preparations on Sunday with a friendly against Norway.
Ireland meet Belgium in Bordeaux in the teams' second group game on June 18th.
