World No 1 Rory McIlroy has responded to a double-bogey before the turn to eagle the second hole at the US PGA Championship at Whistling Straits.

The World No 1, who started on the 10th tee this afternoon, is now on 2-under, four shots behind Dustin Johnson, David Lingmerth and George Coetzee who are on 6-under.

Graeme McDowell is one-over, while Padraig Harrington and Shane Lowry are on 3-over and-2 over respectively.

Darren Clarke is way back on 15-over.
