UFC 205 is almost upon us and Conor McGregor is chasing an unprecedented goal in trying to hold two belts simultaneously.

McGregor faces Eddie Alvarez for the lightweight title at New York's maiden UFC event since the sport was finally legalised in the state this year. And the title holder suspects that McGregor is already spooked before the fight has even begun.

Speaking on part one of the UFC Embedded show previewing the card, Alvarez pointed to some hostile comments made by McGregor, as a possible sign of his anxiety going into this fight.

"This guy is so offensive-minded and never on the defence that whenever you put him on the defence he gets so flustered and so upset. At a certain point in our conference call, he started to get desperate. He started talking about my wife and kids and things like that. For me, it’s a sign of desperation."

"You don’t talk about another man’s family unless you’re like, through the roof pissed off. If we were in a fight, and I was putting him on the defence, I looked at that like this man is just closing his eyes now and throwing bolos.

“Just to see him cross that (line) it’s good… it’s a good sign for me. He’s already on tilt, and we didn’t even get into the cage yet."
