The Prime Minister of the UK David Cameron was booed members of the Centre Court crowd at Wimbledon after Andy Murray’s grand slam triumph over Milos Raonic.

Murray was being interviewed on court moments after his convincing straight sets victory against the Canadian.

The Scot paid tribute to the crowd and mentioned that the prime minister was among the audience in SW19.

This reference to Cameron was greeted with an awkward smattering of boos, with some reluctant applause mixed in, leading to a few painful moments as Murray patiently waited for the noise to subside.

“I think playing a Wimbledon final is tough but I certainly wouldn’t like to be the prime minister,” Murray said.

As the boos lingered Murray added that being PM was an “impossible job” while TV cameras showed Cameron laughing in his seat in the royal box.
