In all likelihood, for many of us, the Super Bowl is just an American curio that comes about every year and passes by without offering any more clarity on what a linebacker or wide receiver is. But this particular piece of Americana has become an entertainment event, with its half-time show and adverts far more accessible since the development of YouTube.
This year’s ads sent viewers on an emotional rollercoaster, with the commercials generating thousands of confused tweets along with expressions of tears and laughter. Celebrity appearances (Bryan Cranston bringing Walter White back, for instance) actually failed to make as big an impact as the ads that went with substance and heart over style and cameos.
Fortunately for those of us on this side of the Atlantic, most of 2015’s biggest commercials were released in the days leading up to the yesterday’s game, which saw the New England Patriots beat the Seattle Seahawks in Arizona. Based on online reaction and YouTube analytics, these are the 10 best Super Bowl Commercials of the year:
10: #RealStength, Dove Men+Care
9: Invisible Mindy Kaling, Nationwide
