The first in many strange occurrences at the Golden Globs last night was Jacqueline Bisset's acceptance speech. The 69 year old won best supporting actress for the TV miniseries Dancing on the Edge but seemed a little worse for wear when she started to thank her colleagues and friends.
She even managed a few choice words for the people who didn't help her over the years: "The people who've given me shit, I say, like my mother, what did she say? She used to say, "Go to hell and don't come back."
British actress Emma Thompson arrived on stage with her shoes in one hand and a martini in the other to announce the nominees for the Best Screenplay award. She played the part of 'drunk actress' very well but we do think it was an act (not the shoes though, they do look painful).
Spike Jones won the award for Her.
Then there was Diane Keaton's award acceptance on behalf of her friend, director Woody Allen. Again, a weirdly wonderful rambling that made no sense, was bleeped out at several points and even finished off with a little song, the Girl Scout staple ”Make New Friends (But Keep the Old)”.
Surprisingly I couldn't find a video of her speech online.
Bono's neck massage and subsequent full-on smooch with actress Amy Poehler was 'friendly' while his kiss-hug with fellow musician P.Diddy was just a little bit awkward.
