Usain Bolt ensured his qualification from the Men's 100 metre sprint semi-final today with a 9.96 effort in the final heat of the stage. 

He was pushed by Mike Rodgers of the USA, who finished just a fraction of a second behind in second but in reality, it appeared as though the Jamaican never reached top gear and slowed down to the point of almost walking by the end of the race. 

The 100m Men's semi-final take place tomorrow beginning at 12.10pm (Irish time).

The other heat winners were Asafa Powell, Tyson Gay, Femi Ogunode, Trayvon Bromell, Jimmy Vicaut, and Justin Gatlin.
